Kayla M. Wheeler, Esq. is a Senior Associate Attorney at Dudani Law and one of the firm's rising forces. In 2025 she was named to the National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, a recognition reserved for young attorneys whose results speak louder than their years. She is admitted in New York and New Jersey, which means she can fight for you on either side of the river.
Kayla came to the law to vindicate the rights of workers, and she has never wavered from it. Her practice covers federal and state discrimination matters, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. She has litigated in state and federal court and pursued claims through mediation and arbitration, and she treats every client's case with the urgency she would want if it were her own career on the line.
Before her current practice, Kayla served as Assistant General Counsel in the Employment Law Unit at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where she conducted investigations and prosecuted employment disciplinary matters at administrative hearings. She has seen how employers investigate, document, and defend themselves, and she uses that insight to build cases they cannot easily explain away. Before joining Dudani Law, she litigated discrimination and harassment cases at one of New York's busiest plaintiff-side employment firms, carrying the kind of caseload that teaches an attorney how to move a case and how to win it.
Kayla graduated from Syracuse University College of Law in 2022, where she earned a Dean's Scholarship and served in the Travis H.D. Lewin Advocacy Honor Society. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park.
